You are probably curious about video email, but as an email marketer, you are not sure exactly how to use it. Don’t worry; many marketers feel the same way. This new (and exciting) format offers many different email options. The important thing to realize is what ways will work best. Here are four ways to use video email in you campaigns effectively.
Testimonials
Recent studies show that a referral from an average human being is far more convincing then any banner ad. This is why video testimonial is a great way to sell your products or services. All you need to do is find someone who has either called or emailed positive words about your company or product; contact them and ask them if they are interested in filming a video testimonial for use on your website and email. After that all you need to do is provide them with some general guidelines about length and if they don’t have one a webcam.
Demonstrations
If you aren’t already posting detailed videos on how to use your product, providing a video showing how to use the product in an email is a great way to teach your customers how to optimize their purchase. In addition, there is an added benefit, less returns from customers who miss-use your product. Another video you can create is a demonstration of your top 10 best selling goods and email them to customers after they buy on of these products.
You can also produce a video of general tips for saving money, time and other helpful things. Email recipients grow weary of the hard sell. The best way to combat this is to intersperse your sales videos with video emails of helpful information (money saving tips etc). Of course, it is a great idea to use your products in the videos. Try to make it as non-pushy as possible. Show your recipients that you care about making life easier for them. This should make them more receptive to your next sales email.
Personal Thank Yous
Customers buy a lot products and services and never receive more then a “thank you” form email. So, consider sending a personal video thank you. Have your CEO or some other high-level executive record a brief but passionate message thanking the customer for their business. A little thank you goes a long way towards building customer loyalty.
Dozens of ways exist to use a video email campaign to your advantage. These four tend to be especially effective, if you are not certain you want to do all of them just chose one and see how your customers respond to it.
